A GREAT COMPANION AND GUIDE TO TRAVEL WITH

Francisco Guayasamin worked with me as my guide during my recent  my visit to Ecuador.
Before arriving in Ecuador Francisco was in contact with me via email
to carefully organise and discuss my itinerary.
Francisco was there on my arrival into Quito airport and came to the airport on my departure.

Francisco has an incredible knowledge of his country and
is very sympathetic to the different cultures of Ecuador.
He worked really hard arranging things for me,
making sure that we stayed in exactly the right hotels for my budget.
I was particularly impressed with his choice of hotel in Quito.

We journeyed from Mishahualli in the Amazon to Alausi in the highlands of Ecuador.
Ecuador is a beautiful, colourful and fascinating country with wonderful, friendly people,
and there were so many interesting places that Francisco showed me,
well worth the 16 days I set aside for the trip.

Francisco is an intelligent and knowledgable guide,
but most of all he's a great companion to travel with.

AMAZING PLACES, GREAT TALENT, GOOD ART, FOOD AND WONDERFUL SMILES

If you are going to Ecuador work with Francisco Guayasamin,
He can plan any kind of trip you wish to take, highlands or Galapagos Islands
or the Amazon. He will get you there.

I was continuously surprised and pleased by all the places we visited.
He not only got me around to some wonderful places I had no idea existed.
Adding to an eye opening adventure.  I really enjoyed Francisco Guayasmin's great company,
practicality and sense of humor.

The staff at the hotel was wonderful, my lousy Spanish skills made it hard to share
but they were there when I needed help

I want to thank my very kind to  Francisco Guayasmin.
he was a shoulder to lean on when my feet hurt too much,
a grocery shopper and nurse when I ate the wrong things.

Thanks Ecuador for letting me visit and see some amazing places, great talent, good art,
wonderful smiles, good food and a wonderful example of a working Democracy dealing
with the challenges of providing services to the people and participating in the global community.

Right now. I´m a retire living in Cuenca

Thanks Francisco.

ECUADOR THROUGH AN ECUADORIAN´S EYES

Francisco is one of the highlights of our international travels.
We told him what we wanted and he exceeded our expectations.

We were met at the Quito airport when we landed
and were treated to the Ecuador only experienced
by locals which is what we wanted.
Every detail was attended to.

So we had no prepackaged expensive tours.
There is no way we could have experienced the wonderful places and things we did with out him.
No tour guide book or other company has matched the service we received by him.

Francisco Guayasamin was an amazing guide.
He showed us Ecuador through an Ecuadorian´s eyes.
His knowledge of , and enthusiasm for his country made our trip truly memorable.

Francisco guided the three of us to some of the most beautiful places in Ecuador

Thank you so much for all you did for us and for the fabulous tour of Ecuador.

THE BEST TOUR GUIDE I´VE EVER HAD.

Francisco Guayasamin traveled around Ecuador with me for most of my three week trip

I highly recommend him for enyone considering a trip to Ecuador.
Gracious, funny and well organized.

Francisco also speaks very good English and is an Ecuadorian historian in his own right.
Other tour guides asked him questions and wanted to follow us around one tour of indigenous tribes.

From the moment he met me at the airport, I felt like a V.I.P.
Best of all, we are now friends and I have someone to look foward to spending more time
with when I move to Ecuador.

The best tour guide I´ve ever had,
if you don´t use Francisco it will be our loss

GRACIAS, FRANZISCO

THE BEST TOUR GUIDE AND SPANISH TEACHER IN ECUADOR

I came to Ecuador as a tourist and fell in love with the place.
I decided to return to Ecuador in order to see more of the country and to improve my Spanish.
An old friend from work recommended Francisco Guayasamin as a tour guide.

I spoke with Francisco a couple times on line from the US and found him friendly and knowledgeable. He booked an excellent hotel for me, picked me up at the airport, and made sure
I was comfortable in my hotel room.

My initial plan was to take Spanish classes at one of the many language schools for foreigners in Quito. However, Francisco offered to help me with my Spanish at no additional cost.
So, we’ve been speaking in Spanish ever since I arrived.
He corrects my mistakes, teaches me practical, everyday Spanish,
and when I get stuck, he’s able to explain things to me in English.
I’ve been studying Spanish on line with different language schools over the past three years, and have worked with multiple teachers. Francisco is among the best teachers I’ve worked with,
and charges less for this combined service (tour guide + language teacher)
than any school I found (and I’ve searched across multiple Latin American countries).

Over the course of three weeks, I visited numerous sites in and around Quito with Francisco,
attended several cultural events that I would never have discovered on my own,
despite my travel experience and all the travel books I armed myself with before returning to Ecuador. He also discovered that I’m a glutton, and so took it upon himself to help me explore the culinary traditions of Ecuador, in addition to its history and nature sites.
Every day we ate something different and he would explain the origins of the dish,
how it’s prepared, etc. At my request, he also introduced me to several locals and thanks to him.
This was a cultural immersion experience beyond my wildest dreams.

Perhaps the highlight of my visit was the weeklong trip to Baños de Agua Santa and to Alausí.
I cannot rave enough about this trip. Francisco arranged all the details, as usual, and we went together. We took the bus, and the ride was fun because of the great scenery and because
I enjoyed chatting with him all the way (another chance to work on my Spanish).
The hotels he chose in both towns were excellent, and he knew all the neat sites to visit.
One of the things that stood out to me was his friendly manner in dealing with everyone,
from the bus drivers to the street vendors.
He treats people with respect and it pays dividends.

Last but not least, I’ve been considering getting residency here in Ecuador.
Francisco knows all the paperwork that needs to be done.
He helped me prepare a list of all the documents I needed to bring with me and,
once I arrived in Ecuador, he started taking me to the government offices where
I needed to get certain documents certified and helped me submit the right application forms, etc. Needless to say, this isn’t an easy process for a foreigner to try and navigate alone.
I had heard from others that it’s best to avoid lawyers because of their tendency to overcharge
and overcomplicate things. With Francisco, the process was a breeze.
He kept apologizing to me for what he considered too much bureaucracy in Ecuador.
I didn’t know what he was talking about because as far as I was concerned,
it couldn’t have been easier—thanks to his help, of course.

If you want to visit Ecuador as a tourist, or if you want to learn practical conversational Spanish
and get a real taste of the culture, I highly recommend Francisco Guayasamin.
And if you’re trying to apply for residency, do yourself a favor and try him out.
You won’t be sorry.

FRANCISCO GUAYASAMIN IS A FONT OF KNOWLEDGE

If you are thinking of hiring Francisco Guayasamin as your tour guide,
you will NOT regret engaging him!

We were extremely impressed with how well he listened to what we were - and were not - interested in, and tailored his recommendations / escorted excursions accordingly!

He is a font of knowledge, and gave us confidence in navigating the area independently
as well as with him! A real find!!!

A PLEASURE TRIP FROM THE BEGINING TO THE END

"I visited Ecuador on my own, without ever having been to South America before.
Francisco Guayasamin made the trip a pleasure from beginning to end.

I described some of things I wanted to experience in Ecuador, and Francisco arranged it all.
He met me at the airport, and made sure I was situated in my hotel.
Francisco showed me a side of Quito that I doubt many visitors get to see.
He knew the history of all the sites, and was able to speak knowledgeably about
everything from the history of the indigenous people of the area to today's politics.
One thing I remember about that visit was all the great food we found!

Francisco also arranged trips outside of Quito so that I could see the market at Otavalo
and the surrounding area as well as the beautiful countryside to the south of Quito
on the way to Baños de Agua Santa.

If you want to see more of Ecuador than the average visitor, contact Francisco!
He'll make your vacation a truly unique and enjoyable adventure!"

VISIT AT THE HANDS OF ONE OF THE BEST TOUR OPERATOR IN ECUADOR

The Mountains of Ecuador have always fascinated me,
so on my last visit at the hands of one of the best tour operators in this country
Francisco Guayasamin  - Ecuador Gay Tour Guide,

Antonio Burgos García and me too were on an amazing tour of Condors and hummingbirds.
Suffice to say, we saw Condors and had ample opportunity to photograph them
and also seemany varieties of hummingbirds.

The array of these coloured flying gems was incredible with up to 8 or different species
present in the various places we stopped that had gardens planted with native plants
so these fascinating birds came to feed. One of my favourites the White Necked Jacobin,
here photographed in the misty Rainforests of the foothills of the Andean Mountains
at Mindo cloudy forest.

HE IS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ECUADOR

I originally found Francisco through a web search and once we were in contact
I immediately felt at ease with him and knew that I'd be well taken care of.

All the tours that he took me on: Quito historic center tour, Mindo cloud forest and Otavalo
were very personalized for me and I felt more like I was just hanging out with a friend
who had a lot of knowledge of his country.

That was exactly what I was hoping for. In fact, Francisco even invited me to a local LGBT
event one evening which was a great way to meet locals and have local insight.

Now I feel like I've made a new friend in Ecuador.
Francisco is extremely knowledgeable about his country, not just about the tourist sights but history, politics and many other topics.

Thank you

THE MOST VERSATILE...

When people ask me  "Tolo what has been your favorite country to travel in?"
I break  my answer up into the 2 distinct categories.

 1.  The most photogenic.
The winner is  NEW ZEALAND and through research
I have found that millions of others agree.

2.  Most versatile. And the winner is Ecuador.
It just seems to have everything a traveler would like to explore.
It's got a variety  of climate zones, diverse landscapes from Andes Mountains vistas to sea level
where nice beaches dot the coastline.

Ecuador has many indigenous peoples who look, speak and dress in a multitude of ways.
This small country has hot springs, mountain top craters and
a fascinating fully restored railroad line..
My list has just scratched the surface.

FRANCISCO GUAYASAMIN IS DEFINITELY AMONG THE BEST

I have done quite a bit of traveling throughout South America, including Ecuador, where Francisco served as my tour guide. I enjoyed my visit so much that I returned just last year.

If you plan to visit Ecuador and are looking for a guide who specializes in gay tourism, then Francisco Guayasamin is definitely among the best. He knows all of the places to go for sightseeing during the day and fun times at night. Aside from being an excellent tour guide, Francisco is really a great guy personally. If you travel Ecuador with Francisco Guayasamin as your guide, you will be extremely satisfied.

IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE

We just had the most wonderful trip to Mindo.
We rang in the New Year, spending days on either side seeing all Mindo had to offer,
and a bit of pieces of Quito.

Our guide was Francisco Guayasamin
who worked with us to determine what we wanted to explore.
It was an amazing experience.
This is a photo he took of me at the Mariposario de Mindo.
Cannot recommend him and his friend Víctor Cevallos more!

WE CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND FRANCISCO´S SERVICES

Me and my friends recommend the guide services offered by Francisco Guayasamin,
who showed us Quito and its environs for several days and accompanied us on a day trip
to a shrine church, Las Lajas, built in a gorge over the Guaitara River in Ipiales, Columbia.
The day trip included a visit to Ecuador’s Otavalo Market
and the Municipal Cemetery in Tulcan, which is known for its topiaries.

Francisco suggested we tour Quito’s historic district for our first day.
Quito, a North/South-oriented city, hugs the Andes traversing its peaks.
The old town contained its historic center with several churches,
and we visited a number them:
La Campania, a beautifully appointed Jesuit Baroque church is quite ornate and covered in gold leaf
and La Basilica del Voto Nacional.
What was most appreciated was Francisco emphasis on how the Church
interacted with the indigenous population and how these structures represented themes that the indigenous found meaningful to them, including the local fauna.

On subsequent days we visited a few museums,
one emphasizing indigenous art (La Casa de Albabado),
which is maintained in a beautifully restored building which was once a house.
We also saw some of Ecuador’s more modern art,
visiting the exquisitely appointed home of Oswaldo Guayasamín,
Ecuador’s most recognized modern artist, and his Chapel of Man,
which contains several of his paintings.

Francisco also took us to an Inca ruin, which represented a border area of that Empire,
and a local site on the Equator which demonstrated several phenomena experienced
on and slightly north or south of that line.
While several of these sights can be found in the guidebook,
value was also found in Francisco’s diverting from the beaten path.
His deep knowledge of his city allowed us to see some of its more remote treasures
and his knowledge of shopping opportunities provided access which
we would not have come upon through our own explorations.
He also was helpful in ferreting out store opening times and in negotiation with Its merchants.

In sum, we can highly recommend Francisco’s services
and note that the costs associated with them were more than reasonable.

HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE SITES VISITED

I can say nothing but wonderful things about the time I spent with Francisco Guayasamin,
my tour guide  and his wonderful driver, Miltón.

Francisco acted as my tour guide on my first visit to Ecuador
and was wonderful as the first Ecuadorian person I met here.
I’m here to tell you that he is VERY knowledgeable about the history
and interesting points about the sites visited
I have since moved to Ecuador
and he recently served as my guide on a drive from Quito to Riobamba.

Such a pleasure to cross paths once again.
And I look forward to taking advantage of his services in the future,
as well, as I get more settled into my new life here in Cuenca,
especially as I eventually spend more time exploring more of Quito
and its surrounding sites and areas of interest.
Thank you, Francisco! You're wonderful and amazing.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE FOR MY MAGICAL TOUR OF ECUADOR.

Looking a someone to set up your Ecuador itinerary and be your travel guide?

I HIGHLY recommend Francisco Guayasamin.
I traveled twice throughout Ecuador with him.
From the moment I arrived in the airport,
I was treated like a V.I.P.
He planned my stay and travelled with me to many cities, towns, mountains and beaches.
He speaks fluent English and is based in Quito.
He knows Ecuador like the back of his hand
and is an advocate for the indigenous communities.

Francisco's knowledge of Ecuador is as immense as his graciousness.
Francisco creates personalized itineraries based upon your interests
and his rates are reasonable.
He is caring, attentive and a tourism professional.

You know you have a fantastic tour guide when other tour guides look to him for information.
This happened when I toured Ecuador with Francisco Guayasamin.
People with other tour guides stopped to listen to Francisco because of his knowledge.
Now that's impressive!  For me
Francisco Guayasamin is the best tour guide in Ecuador!
I cannot imagine touring Ecuador without him.
I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who wants to visit this beautiful country to contact Francisco.

A FABULOUS TIME WITH LOTS OF LAUGHS

Francisco not only put together a great itinerary at short notice
and booked my Galapagos excursions for me,
he also helped look after me a lot after.

I was also able to climb to the summit of the Rumiñahui volcano,
What a wonderful experience!

Booking trips with Francisco Guayasamin
not only means you will see the best of Quito during your visit,
it also means you will have a fabulous time with lots of laughs.
I’m looking forward to my next visit.
