I decided to go to Ecuador for tourism, but more importantly, to see what the country would be like to live there after retirement. I want to live peacefully for the rest of my days, with my pension enough to live comfortably.

Francisco showed me the advantages for a retiree from the United States of living in certain parts of Ecuador, but he also taught me how much we should adapt to and learn from this country, without expecting the locals to adapt to our way of life and thinking.
He also told me about all the necessary documents I need to obtain my retirement visa. His knowledge of his country—its history, art, politics, health, economy, laws, and indigenous worldview—is remarkable. For the price he charges for his services, it's well worth it; he truly deserves it.
